Male and Female Pairs

Ducks usually mate in pairs or are found with one male and two or three female ducks. 


Geese a related water bird, water fowl, are usually found in large flocks, groups.  Male and female geese look similar with not many different characteristics. 


Ducks, the Mallard duck for example, have different physical characteristics between male and female.  The male usually has colorful head feathers, the female usually has feathers that match the landscape, like brown, tan, light brown.
